Do You Have a Heart Condition?

December 7, 2021

Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flows the springs of life. Proverbs 4:23 (AMP)

Some believers wrestle with constant internal conflict. Their recreated spirits are shouting, “I’m a born again, spirit-filled child of the King!” Yet their thoughts continually counter that truth with misbeliefs like, “Everyone is smarter than me. I’m still not good enough.”

What’s causing the problem? Their hearts and minds need renewal in the Word of God. You see, losing the joy of your salvation or failing to overcome temptation is not a reflection of your born-again status nor is it a condition of your new spirit. It’s a heart condition. Christ’s life, healing, and joy fill your born-again spirit, but your heart beliefs either prohibit or allow you to walk out all you have been given in Christ.

The solution lies in learning and applying God’s Word. Doing so moves your heart and mind into agreement with your new spirit. When you give your life to Jesus, He comes in and gives you a brand new, incorruptible spirit filled with His presence. It’s important to realize that the enemy is powerless to touch your recreated spirit. Satan can only throw lies your way and hope you allow them to take root in your thought life and grow into misbeliefs in your heart. Without established belief systems rooted in God’s Word, your heart lacks the protective forces needed to squash the enemy’s lies or replace wrong beliefs.

Spending time in God’s Word counters enemy tactics and old misbeliefs. His Word works to renew our hearts and minds so that our beliefs begin to align with the truth of what we have been promised in Christ. Keep your heart conditioned and healthy by meditating on God’s truths.

Protect your heart, and it will protect you!
