Then the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.’ And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: ‘Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!’
When people think of Christmas, joy, hope, and giving gifts may come to mind. That’s because Christmas is all about celebrating the greatest gift given to mankind—Jesus!
If you look at today’s verse, it doesn’t say, “goodwill amongst men”, but it says that from God there is “goodwill toward men”. Jesus’ birth paved the way for there to be peace–between God and each one of us–through His life and sacrifice.
Do you realize how powerful this is? If you’ve accepted Jesus as your Saviour, God’s peace resides in your Spirit-man. It’s already yours! You must learn to release this peace into your own mind and into the world around you.
Are there any areas in your life where you could use a little more peace?
I hear ya!
If you’re saying to yourself, “I wish that I could have more peace in my marriage… if only I could remain at peace even when my life gets crazy”, then I have good news for you.
Peace isn’t something that you have to work towards, or earn. That’s because Jesus is already within you… YOU HAVE PEACE! In order to start experiencing the peace that Jesus brings, you have to begin to speak it out loud so that your mind will be renewed and soon you’ll begin to believe it.
Even if every piece of your life isn’t quite put together yet, you can still have the peace of Jesus on the inside of you, keeping you steady in every storm. That way, you can share this amazing gift with your family, friends, and loved ones.
Jesus is the greatest gift! It’s this relationship with Jesus that brings us our joy, satisfaction, significance, forgiveness and wholeness.
You can start walking in peace right now, and say: “I choose to believe that Jesus’ peace is within me. I bring peace everywhere I go”.
