Ever since I can remember, my family has read Luke 2:1-20 on Christmas morning.
I love this tradition because it’s easy to get wrapped up in the gifts, food and family gatherings at Christmas time. That’s why it’s so important to begin your day thinking about Jesus and remembering what a wonderful gift He is to you.
If your family is around, I encourage you to get them all together to read both the Christmas story and this devotional as a family. Start by reading Luke 2:1-20, then come back to reflect on the Christmas story, together!
Christmas is an amazing reminder of God’s love for us. God loved you and
I so much that he GAVE His son, Jesus, knowing that He’d have to
sacrifice His life for us.
His love for you was so great that He moved Heaven and earth to give you
the greatest gift you could ever receive. This is why we celebrate
Jesus today. He truly is the reason for the Christmas season!
So much changed for us when Jesus was born. Have you ever taken the time to think about how His birth has influenced your life?
- He gave you salvation! Every day of your life—and in Heaven—you’ll always be in God’s presence. He will never leave you (Deuteronomy 31:6).
- He promised you healing! When Jesus died on the cross He took on every sin, sickness, and disease so that you wouldn’t have to.
- He gave you everlasting peace! Even when your life is anything but peaceful, you can have rest in your spirit, knowing that God will bring you through.
Take a minute to really reflect on all that Jesus made possible for us. Where would we be if God hadn’t sent His only Son to come and set us free!? Jesus truly is the greatest gift!
Now if you’re reading this, I’m assuming you’ve already received Jesus in your heart. But wouldn’t it be great if you could share this incredible gift with your loved ones who might not know Jesus?
When Jesus walked on this Earth, He touched lives everywhere He went. When He spoke, everybody listened. Everyone gravitated towards His Spirit-filled, life-changing message.
Take a cue from Jesus—this Christmas, YOU can walk into a room and share God’s peace, joy and light with the people around you.
Is there someone in your life who’s hurting? Is there someone that could use a good laugh? Do you know someone who is lonely that could use some company? You can give them the best present this Christmas by sharing the gift of Jesus!
What’s even better is that it doesn’t matter how old you are, where you live, or what your job is, you can share the peace of Jesus with others… starting today. Just like Jesus released power through the words He spoke, you can release God’s power through your words too!
Wherever you are, you can begin to say this out loud:
God’s Word says, ‘The joy of the Lord is my strength’. The joy of the Lord is in my family and with my friends. The gift of peace that Jesus has given me is influencing my life and my home!
I pray that you feel God’s presence around you and that you’ll know His joy and peace this Christmas.
Sharing the peace of Jesus today,
Your Miracle Channel Family
PS: God loves you so much that He sent Jesus to the world, so that you’d know Him and be in relationship
with Him. May you know the breadth, length, height, and depth of His
love for you this Christmas as you reflect on the beautiful gift of
Jesus. (Ephesians 3:18-20, ESV).
