Steep Your Life In God

Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. Matthew 6:33 (MSG)

When we match our beliefs with Biblical thinking, we can’t help but be more content. God’s Word helps us sift through unrealistic expectations and irrational beliefs, resulting in unparalleled peace and contentment.

Meditate on these biblical beliefs and notice if your thoughts line up:

  1. God has a good plan for my life. In Jeremiah 29:11, God says that He has “plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.” You can trust Him.
  2. What is inside me controls my life, not my circumstances. Matthew 12:35 says “A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him.” What you believe controls your life. Change your beliefs and your life will change.
  3. If I give the best, I will get the best. Luke 6:38 describes this law of sowing and reaping: “Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap.” When we are generous, generosity comes back at us.
  4. Put God first. (Matt. 6:33) After putting God first, He’ll help you work out the rest of your priorities. If you are married, come to an agreement on priorities with your spouse and you will both have more contentment.
