What are you believing for this Christmas?

Leon Fontaine Christmas Devotional

“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.” 1 John 5:4

The birth of Jesus was the start of something beautiful.

Throughout the New Testament, we read about the Good News that was brought into the world through this incredible gift. It all started with Jesus, and that’s exactly why we celebrate Christmas!

This Good News, peace—Shalom—goodwill toward men, is God’s promise to you. A promise of healing, peace, laughter, joy, prosperity and protection from anything that might try to harm you. All of these things are God’s gift to you, because of Jesus!

What are you believing for this Christmas?

When you read that question, several things might’ve come to mind. Is there tension and conflict in your family that resurfaces during this season? Are you believing for a miracle in your body, or for the restoration of your marriage?

Take a minute to meditate on how powerful today’s verse is.

1 John 5:4 doesn’t say that the victory that overcomes the world is our prayer; it says the victory that overcomes the world is our faith

So how do we create a life of faith? How do we live a life that receives this peace that Jesus offers?

It starts with what you believe. In order to have faith in God’s promises, what you believe needs to line up with what God says in His Word.

That’s why getting into God’s Word is crucial for us as believers! By regularly reading the Bible and meditating on its truths, you’ll learn about all the blessings God has promised you, through Jesus.

But it doesn’t just stop there. You need to begin to speak His Word out loud. Isaiah 55:11 tells us that when we speak the Word, it never returns void. Next week we’re going to talk a bit more on the importance of the words we speak and the power they have to transform our life!

As a believer, I encourage you to begin speaking God’s Word this Christmas season.

Start by saying this out loud:
God has good plans for my life —plans to prosper, not to bring me harm. His plans give me hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11).

Continually speak God’s promises of peace and victory, and watch God’s goodness flow into every area of your life!

Victorious through faith,
Your Miracle Channel Family
