ARE YOU EXPERIENCING YOUR FREEDOM?

July 24, 2022

Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. Philippians 2:12–13

If you’ve given your life to Christ, you have a new identity, but you have to work at putting off the old and believing the new.

Philippians 2:12–13 calls this working out your own salvation with fear and trembling. In modern vernacular, this basically means that you have been set free, but you have to work it out into your life to experience it.

You’ve been set free, but are you experiencing freedom in your mind? Or do you feel trapped in anxiety, depression and fear? I realize that there are sometimes physiological causes behind some of these emotions, so take care of yourself physically, but don’t forget the spiritual side of things. You can learn to put off the old you and its limitations, and realize the new you and what you’re capable of through Christ.

Are you experiencing freedom in your financial and relational world? Or do you feel trapped—like nothing will ever change and there’s nothing you can do about it? Forget about that old way of thinking. You have the nature of God and the mind of Christ!

Don’t ever stop renewing your mind! We all have work to do in one area or another, so we need to constantly refer to the Bible to help us realize who we truly are and what we’ve been given.

Get into God’s Word, start to do what it says you can do and become who it says you are!
