BUILD YOUR INNER LIFE

May 26, 2022

Though our outer self is [progressively] wasting away, yet our inner self is being [progressively] renewed day by day. 2 Corinthians 4:16 (AMP)

There are two kinds of lives that we build and cultivate—our inner lives and our outer lives. The difficult thing about modern society is that it keeps us focused on the external.

Most (if not all) of the inventions over the last 200 years have been focused on the external. They help us to cook and clean faster, look better, enjoy more entertainment, have greater comfort and travel more easily. While I’m certainly not saying that these advancements are negative, we have to be careful. Becoming overly focused on our outer world is absolutely devastating to our inner lives.

This inner world is mentioned repeatedly in the Bible. Second Corinthians 4:16 says that it can be progressively renewed day after day and Ephesians 3:16 talks about being strengthened in your “inner man” (NKJV). First Peter 3:4 speaks of cultivating an inner beauty in “the hidden person of the heart” (NKJV), and James 5:8 mentions the importance of establishing your heart.

Over the next few days, you’re going to discover how you can eliminate any misbeliefs that may be lurking within this inner world and instead grow beautiful God-breathed beliefs that will change your life. You can try to change things with an external mindset all you want, but that change won’t become permanent until you change your inner world.

If you’ve been discouraged because you can’t seem to change your circumstances, it’s time to get excited! You’re going to learn how to grow your inner beliefs! And when you change your inner world, everything changes!
