Wisdom shouts in the streets. She cries out in the public square. Proverbs 1:20 (NLT)
The Bible teaches usthat we need to use wisdom for every decision we make, and wisdom is notelusive. It’s not a quiet whisper that you have to strain to hear. Proverbs1:20 says that it’s shouting out the answers you need.
Wisdom cries out atyou everywhere you go. You can findit in church or read it in books. You can find wisdom through a variety ofresources, and you can find it through your interactions with others.
In fact, God might betrying to bring someone into your life who has the wisdom you need for thedecisions you have to make. God often answers our prayers through people. Thewisdom they have is calling out to you and, if you’re open, it’s not difficultto find.
The problem is thatoften we aren’t listening.
Sometimes we wouldrather trust our feelings than the voice of wisdom. We pursue relationshipsdespite little internal warnings and the concerns of people who love us. Wejump into business with someone because we so badly want to believe that theirget-rich-quick scheme will work.
According to James1:5, the best way to get the wisdom you need is to ask God for it. Itsays, “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. Hewill not rebuke you for asking” (NLT). Proverbs 1:22–24 says, “Look, I’m readyto pour out my spirit on you; I’m ready to tell you all I know” (MSG).
Pray for “the spirit of wisdom and revelation” today (Ephesians 1:17,NKJV). Then stay open to finding it through both Christian and secularresources as well as through the people you meet.
