Declare Strength

September 24, 2021
“Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears; let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’” Joel 3:10 (NKJV)

We usually think words are only for communicating with each other. But the words coming out of your mouth hold power. They have the ability to sink into your heart and change your beliefs—and it’s what you believe that directs your life.

If where you are today isn’t lining up with what God’s Word says, then it’s time to change what you’re speaking. Over the next few days, we’ll unpack specific declarations you can confess every day. But for now, I want you to recognize the power of your words.

Speaking is one of the most important parts of the process of faith. Jesus said in Mark 11:23 that you will have whatever you say. Not whatever you pray, hope for or what your parents say about you. It’s the words you speak that dominate the physical, spiritual, mental and emotional realms.

Often, people use their words to describe their current circumstances instead of speaking something new into existence. They’ll say, “I’m just being real.” And I understand where they’re coming from. According to your five senses, you may feel weak financially, physically or emotionally. But Joel 3:10 says, “Let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’”

When you feel weak, declare what God’s Word says about you. Stop speaking earthly principles when a godly principle overrides it. The world may say things like, “It’s flu season, I’m bound to catch it eventually.” But the Word says supernatural health is yours! Are you speaking it?

Hold fast your confession of the Word. Hang on tight and don’t let anyone’s words of doubt get in. Your positive confession of faith causes miracles to take place!
