God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us. Ephesians 3:20 (MSG)
When you hold a dream in your heart, it’s much different than just having it in your mind.
The mind is often the enemy of dreams. I’m not saying you should turn off your brain, but if you rely solely on logic, you’ll reason your dreams away. Your mind will see obstacles, limitations and risks—and convince you that your dream can’t be fulfilled.
But when you hold a dream in your heart, you will pursue it through tremendous storms. You’ll face ridicule, hardship and negative opinions telling you that it can’t be done. But, no matter what, your heart will persevere and continue going after the dream.
To keep your dreams alive, they need to belong to a part of you where vision, hope and faith live. In other words, they need to be rooted in your heart.
You need to do your part if you want to hold on to the dreams God has planted in you. As you go through this devotional, give Holy Spirit permission to work “deeply and gently” within you (Ephesians 3:20, MSG). Let Him shape the dreams in your heart as you read His Word.
God is more amazing than you know. His plans for you are beyond what you could ever imagine. And if you let Him, He’ll help you walk out the fantastic destiny He has for you.
