Destined for Great Things

He chose us [actually picked us out for Himself as His own] in Christ before the foundation of the world, Ephesians 1:4 (AMPC)

Thousands of years before you were born, God voiced His desire to adopt you as one of His children. Ephesians 1:4 says that He knew you would come along. No matter what the circumstances of your conception and birth, God wasn’t surprised. He knew about you and prepared an amazing plan for your life.

One Sunday as I spoke on this topic, I used the example that even if you were a product of a rape, God knew you would come along. He didn’t plan for the horrible act of violence to happen to your mother but He did have plans for you.

A man approached me after the service and confided that these were exactly the circumstances of his conception. He had always felt unwanted—as though his presence on earth was an accident. He had never realized before that moment that God had planned for his arrival long before he was ever born—that no one on planet earth is an accident or is unwanted in God’s eyes.

God has a destiny for you.

Never forget that God has crafted you with gifts and natural abilities for a specific purpose. The way your mind works, your personality, where you were born and your looks were no accident. No matter what has happened to you in the past, God has a plan for you that is absolutely amazing.
