Eternity is Forever

September 15, 2021
“...whoever accepts and trusts the Son gets in on everything, life complete and forever! And that is also why the person who avoids and distrusts the Son is in the dark and doesn’t see life. All he experiences of God is darkness, and an angry darkness at that.” John 3:36 (MSG)

Heaven and hell are both real—and not everyone will automatically make it into Heaven.

Some don’t believe this statement is true, and this misbelief affects their actions. When we fail to realize the truth about eternity, we may live self-focused lives. We don’t realize that our world is just a temporary home, so things like work, money or pleasure become our focal point. Or we may live exclusively for our children and grandchildren.

The truth is, our lifetimes are just a moment in comparison to the eternity we’ll spend with Jesus. When we focus on the eternal, we can’t help but realize that our main purpose is to help bring others with us into Heaven.

The worth of our actions on this planet become measured by the number of lives touched. We stop worrying about experiencing everything on our “bucket list” of things to do before we die.Instead we relax, knowing that one day the Earth will be recreated, and we’ll have eternity to experience and explore this amazing planet.

God wants you to enjoy yourself and create a rewarding life. But Matthew 6:33 (NKJV) says, “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Put Him first today and look for ways to bring others closer to Him. You will experience the overwhelming feeling of being involved in changing how someone spends eternity!
