Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Romans 12:1 (MSG)
When you worship God, life becomes amazing. You gain a greater capacity to manage your feelings and guard your thoughts. Fear, worry, anger and insecurity will not settle into your soul the same way when you spend time in God’s presence.
It’s important to realize that worship doesn’t require you to break from your ordinary day and do something ritualistic or ceremonial. Here are a few ways you can incorporate worship into your day today:
1. Get your heart right. You worship when you simply present your entire self to God and let Him direct your life. Each morning when you get up, ask Him, “What do you want to do today?”
2. Express gratitude. You are worshipping God when you thank Him. Express sincere thanks for the people in your life and for the gifts and talents He’s placed in you.
3. Help others and be generous. In Hebrews 13:16 (NLT), it says, “And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God.” And Philippians 4:18 (NLT) tells us that when we give to our church, God views it as “a sweet-smelling sacrifice that is acceptable and pleasing.”
4. Share the good news of Jesus. This is the ultimate act of worship. When you tell others about Jesus and let your life be an example of His amazing power and grace, you are worshipping God in the highest sense. Your own life becomes enriched beyond belief when you help change someone else’s life and their eternity for the better.
