Follow His Lead

And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” Galatians 4:6 (NKJV)

God never stops guiding you, but you won't sense His guidance if you’re led by logic and reasoning. The way He leads you is spirit to spirit. Reasoning is powerful, but it won’t always help you pick the right direction.

For example, let's say you have two equal job opportunities. Both come with the same pay and benefits, so how do you make a decision? You can use your logic and reasoning to list the pros and cons of each job, but when there's no discernible way to determine one is better than the other, what do you do?

That’s when Holy Spirit inside you will lead you with a gut feeling. You may look at one opportunity and for some reason, you just don't feel good about it, even if it looks good on the surface. But when you examine the second job, you're excited and at peace. That’s Holy Spirit leading you.

There have been times in my life when one choice did look better than another, yet I didn’t feel good about it. So, I had to give it up and go the other direction. And every time, Holy Spirit’s leading has been proven right.

As you quiet your mind and meditate on God's Word, the umpire of peace will guide you in all the issues of your life. If God knows how many sparrows have died within the time it took you to read this devotional, He cares about you far more. He cares about the big decisions and the little things in your life. Keep listening for His still, small voice, and He’ll guide you down paths of blessing! Trust Him.
