And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God… Romans 8:28 (NKJV)
No matter what has happened to you in life, God can turn it around for good. Take Joseph as an example. Joseph was close to his father, Jacob. His life seemed to be going well until the day his jealous brothers sold him into slavery.
When Joseph was sold to Potiphar, the captain of Pharaoh’s guard, he had a decision to make. He could choose to dwell on the injustice of his situation, or he could rise up to be the best he could be. He chose the latter, and eventually he was promoted to oversee Potiphar’s entire household.
But one day Potiphar’s wife took a liking to Joseph. When Joseph resisted her attempts to seduce him, she accused him of rape and had him thrown in jail. Yet again, Joseph rose to the highest level of influence within his circumstances and began overseeing the prisoners.
Each time, Joseph chose to get better, not bitter. And although God didn’t cause the pain in Joseph’s life, He used each turn of events to propel him forward. Eventually Joseph’s actions in prison led to him being brought to the Pharaoh. At age 30, Joseph became the most powerful man in Egypt next to Pharaoh. From this position he saved his family from starvation during a terrible seven-year famine.
Don’t give up if something bad has happened to you. Stand up and say, “What was meant for my harm, God is going to turn around for my good!” Just like in Joseph’s life, God can use even the worst situations to open doors if you choose to learn and keep moving.
