And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” Mark 16:15 (AMP)
As a believer, you have an assignment on your life. Jesus summed it up in His last words to the disciples, a mandate known as the Great Commission: “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”
Does this mean you have to pack up and be a missionary in another country? Possibly… but a more accurate understanding of this verse is, “as you go into the world, wherever you go, preach the Gospel.” As you go into your workplace, neighbourhood or grocery store—simply share Jesus.
I used to think I had to debate with people to convince them of the truth. But the Word doesn’t say our job is to convince anyone. It says preach—or in some translations, proclaim—the Gospel. This makes our job really simple!
As a paramedic, I remember extricating a woman from a terrible car wreck. Rushing to the hospital, I saw such fear on her face and had the urge to share Jesus with her. So I gave her a quick, simple Gospel message and asked if she’d like to receive Jesus. Faith rose in her and she said yes, right there in the back of the ambulance.
Faith can only come to an unsaved person when a saved person shares the Good News. If you’ll simply share what Jesus has done in your life, then it’s up to them to either accept or reject Him. You don’t need the perfect words. Just go into your world and share why Jesus died on the cross and what He’s done for you. If you’ll accept your assignment, God will lead you to people who are open to hearing the Gospel!
