God’s Blessings are All Over You

February 22, 2022

Give generously to the poor, not grudgingly, for the Lord your God will bless you in everything you do. Deuteronomy 15:10 (NLT)

Some assume that God loves to punish and correct us, but is that really true? Since Jesus was our best example of what God is like, let’s look at His example.

The opening verses of Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5 were all about blessing. Jesus often took the time to stop and bless children, too. And His last words before ascending into heaven were words of blessing over His followers. Jesus blessed people everywhere He went.

The truth is that God gets pleasure out of blessing you and is pleased when you receive it.

In fact, God has commanded a blessing on you (Deuteronomy 28:8). Not only that, but He promised to bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to. Think about that. God blesses every good thing you put effort into!

Not only will God bless you in your career, but if you are working at getting into better shape or you want more laughter and joy in your life, God will bless those efforts.

If you want an area of your life to improve, do something different. If you want to get healthier, start by walking for just ten or fifteen minutes a day. Yes, Christ’s power in you will even help you to lose weight and get healthy. He wants what’s best for you!

God blesses your efforts. You’re always blessed. When you step out in faith and start heading in the right direction, God’s blessings are all over you.
