God’s Word is like Seed

For God’s nature abides in him [His principle of life, the divine sperm, remains permanently within him]; 1 John 3:9 (AMPC)

When you plant a small apple seed under the ground, it has the potential to grow into a tree that produces thousands of apples in its lifetime. The growth is exponential.

Similarly, choosing to think about God’s Word is much more powerful than merely replacing negative thoughts with positive ones because God’s Word is like seed.

When planted in your mind, God’s Word changes your beliefs, creating a harvest of good things in your life. You do not merely replace a negative thought with a positive one—you replace a belief system which controls thousands of thoughts and actions in your life.

In the Greek translation, God’s Word is actually referred to as His sperm. Although shocking at first, when you think about it, this analogy creates a beautiful picture. When a husband and wife come together out of their love for each other in the beauty and intimacy of marriage, sperm meets egg and new life begins to grow. God’s Word is designed to meet you at your deepest level, at the very depths of your being, to cause beautiful things to grow in you.

God’s DNA is throughout His Word. The more of it you take in, the more you take on His character. Keep spending time in the Word and planting it in your heart while asking Holy Spirit to teach you. It’s only a matter of time before you will reap an amazing harvest!
