Have You Tried Everything?

September 11, 2021
If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Romans 12:18 (KJV)

Improvements in your relationships almost always require forgiveness. It’s best when both parties forgive, but miraculous change can begin to happen even when only one person takes that step.

You may have a relationship that seems beyond repair because of too much hurt or too many unrealized expectations. I’m not promising that you can restore that relationship because many factors come into play, but you can do everything in your power to try.

Paul said that you are to live in peace as much as possible, according to the power that lies within you, that’s yours because of Jesus. Although you can’t control the other person’s choices, the choice to forgive them is yours to make. It’s within your control. So…if you haven’t yet taken steps to forgive, you haven’t tried everything.

You don’t have to wait until they admit they’re wrong or until they change. When you gave your life toChrist, God accepted you the way you were—as wonderful or as messed up as you thought you were. He forgave you and made you into a brand-new person, which gave you the power to change.

Every day, you can make the choice to love and accept people in a similar way. Not only will you set yourself free, but your acceptance just may have a profound effect on the person you’ve forgiven. You see, your acceptance can empower people to change more than any amount of guilt or resentment ever could.

Choose to walk in love today. God forgives you even if you don’t change your ways, so He has given you the ability and strength to do the same.
