And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever. John 14:16 (AMP)
In John 14:16, Jesus referred to Holy Spirit as “another Comforter.” The word ‘another’ does not mean different. It means exactly the same. In other words, Holy Spirit functions exactly the same as Jesus.
Jesus did not leave us with someone less wonderful, someone we have to settle for. He left us with someone exactly like Him.
Holy Spirit leads, heals, comforts and helps us to know truth—just as Jesus did when He walked the planet. And He can bring power into your life as you have never experienced before.
When you think of Holy Spirit, do not think of a blob or a vapour. He is a person, just as Jesus is a person, and He is with you everywhere you go!
Not only is Holy Spirit the same as Jesus, but Hebrews 1:3 says “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being.” In other words, Jesus is exactly the same as God. Some view Jesus as loving and God as hard and judging. This picture is wrong. Jesus said “He who has seen me has seen the Father” (John 14:9).
It may be easy to picture Jesus as loving, kind and compassionate because of His acts here on Earth, but I challenge you today to realize that He points you to God’s true nature. Open your eyes to how awesome, loving and amazing God really is!
