Hope in God’s Love

October 7, 2021

Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping— believing that he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, “That’s how many descendants you will have!” Romans 4:18 (NLT)

God loves you.

You may have heard this before, but you need to increase your realization of it. You see, an awareness of God’s love for you helps you to have hope, which is vital.

How exactly does God’s love lead to hope?

Well, as you focus on how valuable you are to God, hope begins to rise in your heart. You start to think, If I’m this valuable to God, He must have a plan for me. If I’m this valuable to Him, He must not want me sick. It doesn’t matter what others say or what has happened to me. If I’m this valuable to God, He’s going to make a way where there is no way!

No matter what’s gone wrong in your life, God loves you. Your hope is in Him! Abraham had no reason to hope that he would have a son. After all, his wife was well beyond child-bearing years. But Abraham had a spiritual reason to hope. He had a promise from God, and so do you. As you feed this hope with God’s Word and His promises, it will grow until you begin to find it natural to have hope every day.

Live and breathe hope every day by staying aware of God’s love for you and what He’s promised you in His Word. As you focus on these two things, hope will rise and, as we’ll discuss tomorrow, you can feed that hope until it turns to faith—faith that can move any problem in your life.
