I am absolutely convinced that nothing—nothing living or dead, angelic or demonic, today or tomorrow, high or low, thinkable or unthinkable—absolutely nothing can get between us and God’s love because of the way that Jesus our master has embraced us. Romans 8:31–39 (MSG)
Good self-esteem provides a strong foundation on which to build a great life. However, many people limit themselves because they struggle with their identity. Actually, the number of people who suffer from low self-esteem may surprise you because many don’t look the part. They seem to have it all together on the outside, but inside they question if anyone likes them and wonder if they are destined to fail.
Although other people tell them they’re capable and talented, deep down they don’t believe it. Their internal self-talk causes them to hold back when they could move forward, shy away from new relationships and play it safe even when their chances of success are great. It doesn’t matter how many degrees they get, how many skills they’ve learned or how many people shout their praises. They limit their potential because they don’t believe in themselves.
Does this sound like you or someone you know?
How you think about yourself on a daily basis controls you more than you realize. If you think it is godly to think you’re a nobody, who deserves nothing, it’s time you begin to internalize what God says about you. God loves you and wants you to walk in blessing and do great things. Every day, get into agreement with God and become the awesome, amazing person He created you to be.
