“For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who relentlessly accused them day and night before our God, has now been defeated—cast out once and for all!” Revelation 12:10 (TPT)
Some governments maintain their power by feeding people alarming headlines and then positioning themselves as the only solution to get people to submit to their agenda. After all, if you can scare someone enough or convince them to believe a lie, you can control them.
Satan operates the same way. He’s not some all-powerful being—Jesus stripped him of his power and authority (see Colossians 2:15.) He can only try to manipulate you into falling for his lies through fearmongering. This will either steer you away from the truth or sideline you completely.
As a pastor, I’ve spent a lot of time with people in their darkest moments. They’ll often share some of their deepest heart beliefs, which usually have nothing to do with God’s Word.
They’ll say, “Pastor, when I was in university, I had an abortion. That’s why I’m dying today—I’m reaping what I sowed,” or, “I just went bankrupt, and I think it’s because I stole money at my first job. It’s my chickens coming home to roost.” They’ve mistakenly fallen for lies.
The devil knows that if he can convince you to swallow his accusations—such as it’s God’s will for you to suffer—he can keep you from knowing God’s peace.
Whatever you find yourself facing, whether it’s a business, relationship or health situation, stake your claim on what Jesus accomplished for you through His death and resurrection. He defeated your accuser, so Satan no longer has anything on you.
Reflect on that truth. Then rise up and walk in God’s peace!
