IS GOD FOUND ONLY IN CHURCH?

September 30, 2023

Even before we were born, God planned in advance our destiny and the good works we would do to fulfill it! Ephesians 2:10 (TPT)

Some people think, “To experience God, I need to attend church or become a church leader.” Now, the world needs pastors, and getting plugged into church is undoubtedly crucial. But God uses the things we do in our everyday lives to help prepare us for where He is taking us.

The truth is, it’s in the mundane moments where God’s purposes often reveal themselves—whether we’re raising our kids, working alongside co-workers or learning sports.

Take a look at much of the Bible. God didn’t necessarily use well-known church leaders or reveal His purposes for people at the synagogue. God worked through ordinary people engaged in their daily lives.

For example, Moses didn’t get his calling while sitting in church. Pharaoh’s daughter rescued him from a crocodile-infested river and raised him as a prince. There in the Egyptian palace, he was trained in politics, warfare and leadership. Then God used Moses’ secular training to lead millions of His people to freedom.

Look at David. It was during countless solitary hours herding sheep that a preteen David—the future king of Israel—grew close to God. Then God utilized David’s warrior heart, sling skills and bold confidence in Him to change Israel’s future for decades.

Church is crucial, but regardless of your title or circumstances, God can use the sacredness of your daily life for His purposes.

Today, look for the ways He’s at work right where you are!
