Is God Silent?

June 8, 2021

And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed. Deuteronomy 31:8 (NKJV)

There’s a common misbelief that God falls silent during certain times of our lives. Many believe that He withdraws in order to teach us something. Yet I can't find a single verse to back up this belief. You may have experienced a time when it seemed like He was silent, but never let your experience change the truth of God's Word.

The truth is, God never stops speaking to you. Think of it like your car’s radio. The signal is always sending, but you’re ultimately in control of the radio's power button. If you want it turned off, your car won't receive any sound. Just because there's no sound coming into your car, you would never assume that all the radios in the world have somehow stopped working. No, you know the problem must be with your radio. The signal hasn't stopped sending!

It’s the same with God. We can choose to tune in to Him or not. He will never say, “I’m going to stop talking to you for a few months or years to help you grow up.” He loves you too much for that. You're too special and too important for Him to abandon you.

No matter where you are, God will never stop guiding you. In every season of your life, His direction, peace and joy are always flowing to you. Never lose your trust in Him. His presence is upon you. He goes before you to make a way, and He goes behind you as your rear guard. Your future is secure and you can be led by God Himself!
