It's All Included

September 16, 2021
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes,  Romans 1:16 (NKJV)

I once read a story about a poor man who saved for years to buy passage to America, but only had enough money for the ticket. He had nothing left for food. So, he packed all the food that he could take along and rationed it into small daily portions. Not long into his journey, he ran out of food and became so starved that he decided to risk punishment by eating in the dining room on the ship.

As he sat down and began to eat, the captain noticed him. He continued to eat as fast as he could, hoping to get as much in as possible before the captain arrived at his table.

But the captain greeted him cheerfully and asked him why he hadn’t seen him before. The man apologized and pleaded for mercy, explaining that he was starving. The captain looked confused. “But sir,”he said, “Your ticket is all-inclusive. All you have to do is come and eat.”

This story reminds me of what it means to accept Jesus into your life. The whole package is bought and paid for. Heaven isn’t the only thing you inherit. As amazing as that is in itself, you gain so much more. The Greek word for salvation in today’s verse is “soteia,” which can also be translated into deliverance, preservation and health.

When Jesus came to Earth, He gave His life in order to win back the rights you were intended to have all along.Because of Him, every promise you see in God’s Word is yours as a believer!

Are you starving when first-class dining is your right because of Jesus?
