Where do you get your right standing with God?
If you think that you can get it from your own behaviour—from doing right and avoiding wrong—you’re in trouble. The devil will draw your attention to every wrong thought and action so you think that God doesn’t want anything to do with you.
Then, if you need healing or some other miracle in your life, the enemy’s tricks will be focused on trying to make you think that you don’t deserve it. It’s not that the devil can attack you with sickness. He isn’t that powerful! The only thing he can do is plant little thoughts. He tries to get you to doubt and think things like, “I’m going to die. I guess my faith isn’t strong enough. I must have done something wrong. God must be punishing me or trying to teach me something.”
The reality is that you’ll only be affected by these thoughts if you actually choose to hang on to them. Instead, you can study God’s Word and keep reminding yourself that righteousness is a gift you’ve been given because you accepted Jesus as your Lord. Then the devil won’t stand a chance at attacking you in this area.
Today, think about your right standing with God and get strong in this area of belief. Your faults and failures don’t prevent you from having a relationship with God or from accessing His promises, favour and blessings. In fact, as you walk with Jesus as your Lord, God’s Word says that “you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power” (Colossians 2:10, NKJV).
