Once you realize your true identity in Christ, look out! Nothing can hold back a Christian who knows who they are!
A while ago I shared a made-up story about an orphaned lion cub who was raised as a poodle.
He learned to be afraid of being hit on the nose by the owner’s newspaper and—even as a full-grown lion—he cringed at the sound of the newspaper being cracked against the owner’s leg. He learned to cower at the sight of the neighbour’s Rottweiler as well, even though one swipe of his paw could have sent the dog flying. This lion had an identity crisis.
One day the lion heard the roar of a wild lion, and something deep inside him came alive. As this tame lion began to run with the wild lions, he began to realize who he really was. He was no longer afraid. He finally understood how powerful he truly was!
Most people have some sort of identity crisis. Some don’t think they can be faithful to one spouse for a lifetime. Others don’t believe they are good parents. Many aren’t sure if they can really enjoy life or they wonder if they we can really do anything great for God.
Nothing could be further from the truth! You are made in the likeness and image of God. You were designed to win in all things—to soar upon the high places of this world. Jesus empowers you to succeed in every sense of the word, and it’s time you believed it!
