I waited patiently for the Lord; and He...heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth. Psalm 40:1-3 (NKJV)
One of my earliest childhood memoriesis the time I followed my dad as he carried beehives across a muddy field. Myboots got stuck in the mud, so my dad had to pull me out, carry me on hisshoulders and slog through that muck with a hive under each arm. I rememberthinking, "Wow, my dad is so strong!"
There are times in life when you feellike you're walking through the mud, barely able to move forward. Yet intoday's verse, David praises the Lord anyway and declares that God brought himout of the miry clay and set his feet on a rock.
In the middle of whatever is holding you back, decide to focus on God'sWord and declare His praises. As you do, it reminds your heart of whoGod is and what He has promised you. Praise changes your heart andreawakens your hope for the future.
You can say, "God, thank You forwho You are. You are faithful to Your promises. You're turning this situationaround for my good. You're taking me out of the pit and putting me onsolid ground, establishing me in Your favour."
Praise has a way of taking you out ofa nosedive and bringing you to new heights. As you magnify God, you'll catchthe wind under your wings and begin soaring like an eagle. Praise Himand watch as it ushers in a new level of hope, victory and success into yourlife.
