Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:10-11 (NKJV)
A soldier missing a helmet or weapon would be at a severe disadvantage on the battlefield. That’s why today’s verse says to put on the whole armour of God. When it comes to life’s difficulties, we can’t stand strong if we’re missing pieces of armour.
So what is the armour? Each piece is a revelation of who you are in Christ (see Ephesians 6:14-17). When these truths get inside you, it empowers you to get up and fight the good fight.
This fight isn’t against Satan, because he’s defeated. You’re not fighting God to convince Him to bless you either, because Jesus already won everything you need. So what’s the fight for? It’s the fight to stay in faith, even when a mentality of defeat is pushing against you.
No matter how old you are or how many times life has knocked you down, there’s still fight left in you. Resist the desire to coast because of your past achievements or to give up because of your current obstacles. There will be situations in life that will require you to fight!
So put on your armour. Meditate on who you are in Christ and what He’s done for you. Choose to exercise your faith and be strong in the Lord. As a believer, His power is in you. You can choose to either carry it around as an untapped resource and keep doing everything in your own strength...or you can access this supernatural power and let it fuel you every day!
