“These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name...they will pick up serpents, and if they drink anything deadly, it will not hurt them;” Mark 16:17-18 (AMP)
Yesterday we covered the first two signs that follow the life of a believer. Today, let’s talk about the third.
3. You are protected. As children of God, we’re promised supernatural protection. Psalm 91:11 (NKJV) tells us, “For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.” Verse 12 says these angels hold you up so you don’t even dash your foot against a stone.
I could share story after story of how my family and I have experienced God’s protection. I can’t wait to get to Heaven one day and find out how angels guarded us or Holy Spirit guided me out of the path of danger without me realizing.
What about delayed dangers? Toxins or poisons can be ingested with the food we eat or absorbed through our skin. Sometimes the negative effects of these things don’t show up until years later. But while we should use wisdom in everything we do, we can also trust in God’s protection. He’s not surprised by any new virus or disease we deal with. And today’s verse promises that nothing deadly can hurt us.
Not only are you protected physically, but your mind is also protected. Jesus said in John 14:27 (NKJV), “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” This perfect peace of Jesus is a gift to you as a believer!
Stay in God’s Word and listen to His voice. As you exercise wisdom, follow His principles and walk in His promises, you’ll live an amazing life that causes others to notice your amazing God!
