If I was holding a glass of water and began praying, "Oh God, please give me something to drink," you would look at me like I'm crazy. But I find that much of the church spends their time praying for things they already have. They haven't realized the full extent of what it means to be born again.
We need to understand the reborn experience. As a believer, you're not lacking wisdom. You already have wisdom because the Spirit of all truth lives within you (John 16:13). God's Word says as you go into situations where you don't have enough knowledge, Holy Spirit will teach you what to say (Luke 12:12).
You're not lacking peace. Jesus has given it to you already as a gift (John 14:27). You also have health and wholeness, because the same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead is quickening every cell in your body (Romans 8:11).
The Passion Translation of today's verse says all these things have been deposited in you! So why aren't we experiencing them all of the time? James 1:26 explains that you can deceive your own heart with your mouth. That means you can also do the reverse—you can build strength and plant truth in your heart with your words!
God's Word is clear. We are to live out Heaven realities here on this planet (Matthew 6:10). You have an inheritance of wisdom, love, joy, peace and supernatural power deposited in reborn spirit. This is the reborn experience, and it's yours because of Jesus!
