asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. Ephesians 1:17 (NLT)
You don’t need more information. You need epiphanies, or in other words, revelations. They change your life. The fact is that every one of us will always need more revelation about who we truly are in Christ.
In the Greek language, the word “revelation” is apokalupsis. According to one definition in the Strong’s Concordance, it means an unveiling, uncovering or revealing. In other words, when you have a revelation, something is uncovered. The veil is lifted and the truth is revealed.
In Ephesians 1:17, Paul prayed for this wisdom and revelation that we all need. In fact, he prayed specifically for us to understand the “glorious inheritance” we have received through Christ as well as His “incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe” (v. 18–19, NLT).
You became a new creation the moment you gave your life to Christ, but you need to know what this means for every area of your life.
For example, if you’ve been praying because you’re struggling with money, you need to know that God has already blessed you. You don’t need something from Heaven; you need a revelation. You need to have the veil pulled aside so you can have a look at yourself in the mirror and clearly see the truth—that God sees you as prosperous and blessed and that He has equipped you with everything you need to walk out that truth in your life!
It’s not a matter of trying to become something you’re not. It’s about getting a revelation about who you already are as follower of Christ. It’s time to unveil the real you!
