WHAT WE’RE DOING ISN’T WORKING

April 3, 2022

Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Colossians 4:5 (NLT)

A record number of churches close their doors in North America each year. People are tired of religion. They’ve lost interest because of the way the church has functioned over the years, and they’re not interested in being judged or shamed into submission.

Many don’t feel like their church speaks their language or that their leaders relate. And it’s often because they find that the Sunday messages do little to show them how to solve real-life problems. We need a new and refreshing way of communicating Jesus’ timeless message of love and hope.

Spirit Contemporary is an effective answer to this problem. It’s a way of staying true to Jesus’ message and all that the Holy Spirit provides for our lives while being contemporary in how we communicate it with others. By being Spirit Contemporary, we can meet people where they’re at, and it’s powerfully effective when it comes to bringing people to Christ.

So, if being SpiritContemporary is so great, why doesn’t every Christian embrace it? One reason is because becoming Spirit Contemporary requires change. Most people hate change because it forces them to do things that initially feel uncomfortable.

Becoming SpiritContemporary requires continual change in the way we think, act and approach church and our faith. It means adjusting how we relate to people so they really understand the truth about Jesus. It also involves realigning our beliefs so they line up with God’s Word.

re you resisting change, not because that change is a bad idea, but just because it feels uncomfortable?
