What's Your Mission?

September 27, 2021
“Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it.” Matthew 16:18 (NLT)

Wherever you are today is probably a result of your upbringing and surroundings. But where you go from here is up to you and the words you speak. As you pray and declare God’s promises, you begin to push off negative situations and bring the miraculous into your world.

Every day, you need to declare who and what you are in Christ. Another area to speak the Word is your mission in life.

According to the Word, you are to...

  • Seek first the Kingdom of God (Matthew 6:33).
  • Go into the world and preach the Gospel (Mark 16:15).
  • Help Jesus build His church (Matthew 16:18). Regardless of your job, your mission is to build the church—the family of God.
  • Follow the voice of Jesus (John 10:3). He’s guiding you through choices in who you marry, where you work and every other area.
  • Bear much fruit (John 15:8)—in other words, you’re designed to get results in every area of your life.

Declaring the Word is the most powerful praying you can do. Your words are creating your future. As you speak your identity and mission, a sense of purpose wakes up within you. You start to see opportunities everywhere you go to reach the hurting and lost with the love of Jesus.

Start saying, “I’m following Jesus and He leads me by name. People are attracted to Jesus because of me. As a child of God, I overcome and reign in life.” Every day, speak and confess who you are, what you are and your mission in life!
