YOUR HEART GROWS WHAT YOU PLANT

July 27, 2022

Jesus also said, “The Kingdom of God is like a farmer who scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, while he’s asleep or awake, the seed sprouts and grows, but he does not understand how it happens. Mark 4:26–27 (NLT)

If you plant the right beliefs in your heart, you will eventually begin to effortlessly produce what you want.

Your heart will grow whatever you plant in it. If you throw a handful of weed seeds into your garden, the ground doesn’t differentiate. It will try to germinate whatever you plant in it. Your heart is the same! It grows whatever you plant, which is why Proverbs 4:23 (NLT) says, “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.”

You, and only you, can guard your heart. God can’t do it—neither can the people around you. Think about this for a minute. Going forward, you can control what gets planted in your heart, which means that you have the power to produce something different in your life.

For example, you can change your life from poverty to prosperity, from sickness to health, from despair to excitement or from low self-esteem to healthy confidence. First, refuse to listen to people who don’t believe things can change. Stop talking negatively. Instead, meditate on God’s promises in those areas and claim them out loud to get them in your heart.

Will you still have setbacks? Sure. But when God’s promises are in your heart, you stay hopeful. You hang onto a good attitude through the storm, which changes things. In fact, as you begin to take control over what’s being planted in your heart, everything changes! Even as you sleep at night, God’s blessings and goodness keep changing your life in the direction you desire.
