Don’t worry in advance about what to say. Just say what God tells you at that time, for it is not you who will be speaking, but the Holy Spirit. Mark 13:11 (NLT)
As Christians, we have everything we need within us to walk in courage and confidence.
In fact, if we are to step into people’s crises to lend a helping hand, and if we are to work with Holy Spirit in a powerful way, we need courage and a confidence that’s attractive.
It takes courage to speak up at the right time when Holy Spirit leads us. And it takes extra determination to do it in a respectful, contemporary way. The good news is that in Christ we have access to a strength and courage that’s greater than we could ever imagine!
That being said, you may still hesitate to step out or speak up. Don’t let fear stop you! We all feel nervous when we try new things, but you need to remember something really important. Whatever you face in life, you won’t face it alone.
When you made the decision to follow Jesus, the Bible says that He began to live inside you. His Spirit is in you always, strengthening you and empowering you to handle anything that comes your way.
Our verse today also says that Holy Spirit will speak through you. So, don’t worry about what to say if you have an opportunity to talk to someone about Jesus. You’ll find that courage and confidence often comes only after you’ve stepped out. Ignore the nervous feelings and actively reach out to the people in your world!
