A huge torrent cannot extinguish love; rivers cannot sweep it away.

Now the Lord God said, “It is not good (beneficial) for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper [one who balances him—a counterpart who is] suitable and complementary for him.”

There are three things that remain: faith, hope and love—yet love surpasses them all.

An open rebuke is better than hidden love.

Taste and see that the Lord is good.

But it wasn’t long before they forgot the whole thing…

Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me.

Oh, how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day. You, through Your commandments, make me wiser than my enemies, for [Your words] are ever before me. I have a better understanding and deeper insight than all my teachers, because Your testimonies are my meditation.

The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who listens to council is wise.

But he answered, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.

The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life.

I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

Then you will delight yourself in the Lord, and I will make you ride on the high places of the earth, and I will feed you with the heritage [promised for you] of Jacob your father; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it.

But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence with in accomplishes] is... joy.

May grace (God’s favour) and peace… be multiplied to you in [the full, personal, precise, and correct] knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.

So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

And he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] at the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or with her; and everything he does shall prosper [and come to maturity].

Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ…
