For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

Then he touched their eyes and said, “Because of your faith, it will happen.”

But grow in grace (undeserved favor, spiritual strength) and recognition and knowledge and understanding of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (the Messiah).

For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; with favor You will surround him as with a shield.

But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.

For it is by free grace (God’s unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation) through [your] faith.

Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom God is pleased.

And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation].

Always be ready to explain your faith with gentleness and respect.

My imprisonment has had the opposite of its intended effect. Instead of being squelched, the Message has actually prospered. All the soldiers here, and everyone else, too, found out that I’m in jail because of this Messiah. That piqued their curiosity, and now they’ve learned about him.

One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision and told him, “Don’t be afraid! Speak out! Don’t be silent!”

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere – in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria and to the ends of the earth.

The council members were astonished as they witnessed the bold courage of Peter and John, especially when they discovered that they were just ordinary men who had never had religious training. Then they began to understand the effect Jesus had on them simply by spending time with Him.

This is my command: be strong and courageous. Never be afraid or discouraged because I am your God.

Faithful are the wounds of a friend [who corrects out of love and concern], but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful [because they serve his hidden agenda].

Who will protect me from the wicked? Who will stand up for me against evildoers?

Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.

The greatest among you must be a servant. But those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humbles themselves will be exalted.

Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams].

And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
