Jesus also said, “The Kingdom of God is like a farmer who scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, while he’s asleep or awake, the seed sprouts and grows, but he does not understand how it happens.”

I lie awake thinking of you, meditating on you through the night.

I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”

I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His. Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.

I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.

Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel—rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.

Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.

Though our outer self is [progressively] wasting away, yet our inner self is being [progressively] renewed day by day.

“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.”

Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.

(As it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did.

“The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.”

Fight the good fight of the faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses.

Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.

Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.

So Peter… walked on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw the strong wind and waves, he was terrified and began to sink.

God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.

Turn and answer me, O Lord my God! Restore the sparkle to my eyes, or I will die… But I trust in your unfailing love… I will sing to the Lord because he is good to me.
