“Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears; let the weak say, ‘I am strong.’”

Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

Then he placed these peeled branches in the watering troughs where the flocks came to drink, for that was where they mated. And when they mated in front of the white-streaked branches, they gave birth to young that were streaked, speckled, and spotted.

“In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.

I decide not to do bad, but then I do it anyway. My decisions, such as they are, don’t result in actions. Something has gone wrong deep within me and gets the better of me every time.

In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes,

“...whoever accepts and trusts the Son gets in on everything, life complete and forever! And that is also why the person who avoids and distrusts the Son is in the dark and doesn’t see life. All he experiences of God is darkness, and an angry darkness at that.”

Their god is their appetite, they brag about shameful things, and they think only about this life here on earth. But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives.

“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows

Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].

If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

“I forgave you that tremendous debt because you pleaded with me. Shouldn’t you have mercy on your fellow servant, just as I had mercy on you?”

Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.”

“Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven!”

“I—yes, I alone—will blot out your sins for my own sake and will never think of them again.”

“Judge not [neither pronouncing judgment nor subjecting to censure], and you will not be judged...forgive and release (give up resentment, let it drop), and you will be acquitted and forgiven and released.”

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
